The Reviewers ~
Founder and Reviewer - Hayley Middleton
"A love of all things literature not only reflects the surroundings of one's life ..... but the person themselves" I love this quote, and I love books. My love for literature has exponentially grown over the last 2 years, and has ended in over 800 book collection, job at a book store, better English marks and a drained bank account. In this space, us 'reviewers' will provide you 'reviewees' with (mostly) positive reviews on all things books. |
I prefer to mainly focus on;
- Young Adult
- Fantasy
- Science Fiction
- Fiction
- Romance
At the moment I am obsessed with Dannika Dark books ! We have been lucky enough to host multiple blog tours for her (you should check her out !).
I am a very exuberant and bubbly person and will talk books left, right and centre.
I promise to bring to you some of my favourites and new releases as I can get them from work.
I rarely ever put a book down to do anything, and all my friends can tell you it gets annoying when I chime into a conversation mid word because I was engrossed in a book.
Have fun, and remember ....
Being a nerd is a good thing ....
Being a bookworm is even better :)

I can ensure now that books are what occupy my mind 90% of the time.
I can’t bear to put a book down without finishing it.
Even though I rarely cry whilst reading the saddest of books I cried like a baby while reading ‘Looking for Alaska’ by John Green and I always. Always. ALWAYS. change the endings of EVERY book in my mind.
I live, breathe and love books and I’m sure you can relate.
I generally sway towards the young adult and fantasy books but I do enjoy a few non-fiction and historical books every now and then. So you’ll probably get a mix of genres from me.
All time favourite book? I have none. Everythings good. Even the ones with the crappy plot lines.
Aside from my love for published books I love delving into a few good unpublished ones from Wattpad as they tend to steer away from the generic plot line of ;
‘girl fell in love with boy...oh look she’s a warewolf...oohh bad guys...she kills them. The end.’
As a wise fish always said “Just keep reading” or was it “swimming”? I never remember ;)

Heyyo my lovelies! And yes, I was (and still, on occasion, but let’s be honest sleep is a glorious commodity) one of those weird children who disregarded their parents adamant instructions to sleep and instead tried to cram in just ONE (or two or three or heck even fifty) more chapters before the eventual slowing blinks and closed, sleepy lids. I grew up reading the classics, a bit of Roald Dahl here, a smidge of Enid Blyton there, and I guess I never thought it an option to stop. Flash forward a few years later and you’ll find me much the same. |
I have a sorry excuse for a social life, a seriously unhealthy crush on 40 year old actors (ahem… Misha Collins..), my two book shelfs in my room are crammed and overflowing as we speak and it really doesn’t help that I work at a book shop.
Working at a book store means I am constantly being exposed to new authors and characters and universes and concepts and ahhhhh omgoshhh I need medical assistant! (Well at least my bank account does… whoops…)
You’ll most probably get some interesting reviews from me because I’m bluntly honest and I won’t pretend to love every book that I come across, but hey, at least you’ll know I speak only the truth when I come across a book that I only have praise for!
Thanks for coming along for the experience of me experiencing books so you can hopefully go experience those books I hope we all have a wonderful experience.
Love ya long time,
Sophie xx
P.S. My long term goal for life is to own a book shelf tall enough that it requires one of those wheelie ladders that Mr Olivander has in his wand shop.

"I go to seek a great perhaps" these were the final words of Francois Rabelais; a French Renaissance writer, doctor, humanist, monk and greek scholar. I will admit I am not as cultured as referencing that phrase will make me sound, like most teenage girls that quote came to me in a John Green book (Looking For Alaska). But regardless it has been something that has stuck with me, long after the novelty of the impressed look on peoples faces when I quoted him. While many people may perceive it as a desire for a purely physical adventure, travelling, seeing the world. For me the phrase means devouring as much of this mixed affair we call life in the time we have; as humanly possible. |
Whether that be travelling, learning about things, even ones that may not immediately affect us, meeting fascinating people - or; it may be as simple as reading a book.
Experiencing an adventure we may not ever otherwise in our seemingly simple lives. For me that has always been the most gratifying thing about reading - you live a thousand lives for the price of one.
While I have always been an avid reader, I am equally as picky. I have a very particular taste, and the books that have stuck with me are spread across the genres. That in mind some of my favourites are;
Looking For Alaska - John Green
The Hunger Games Trilogy - Suzanne Collins
Lessons In Letting Go - Corinne Grant
Impractical Jokes - Charlie Pickering
Divergent Trilogy - Veronica Roth
Bossypants - Tina Fey
I hope you enjoy my ramblings
